We decided to hit Texas de Brazil in Fort Worth and didn't miss the casino buffet at all. We did not do the buffet this time as Winstar has quit sending me buffet coupons.
I'd still give the place a second chance. And she was into her ninth hour of her eight hour shift. The food was good, the service, not so much. We took advantage of their midnight specials-pancakes and eggs for $2, and (The All American) sausage, eggs, toast and hash browns for $3. We ate at the Terrace View Cafe at the hotel for breakfast the next morning.
I think most of the basic rooms are exclusively showers which was fine for our needs. Rooms were extremely clean and amenities were adequate. My friend and I were offered a ground floor at the Southside Pool Tower and it was great not having to deal with elevators. I live in Fort Worth and it's nice to take a break away from the daily grind and have a moment of relaxation at Winstar.
I usually spend a couple of nights a year at Winstar.
